It is now time to declare your swimmer’s attendance for Prelims and Champs. Champs operates differently from our dual meets. 

Please read the information below before declaring your attendance.

MEET LOCATION:

South Briar Pool - 1708 Crystal Hills Dr., Houston, TX 77077.

MEET TIMES:

PRELIMS  will be on FRIDAY, June 23rd

10 & under meet will start at 8 a.m. and will finish approximately at noon.

11 and up will start at 2 p.m. and will finish approximately at 6 p.m.

CHAMPS will be on SATURDAY, June 24th 

Meet will start for all age groups at approximately 8 a.m. and will finish approximately at 1 p.m.

*Swimmer arrival times TBD

DECLARING ATTENDANCE:

If you are able to attend BOTH Friday AND Saturday, please declare “ATTENDING”. If your swimmer can come Friday but NOT Saturday or vice versa, please declare as “NOT ATTENDING”. Friday’s meet is a qualifying meet for Saturday so if you can’t come Saturday, there is no point attending on Friday.

On our website or in your Swimtopia app, please declare attendance.

Select the Prelims age group that is applicable to your swimmer (either 10 & under or 11 & up). 

Please declare your attendance for PRELIMS by Wednesday, June 21st at NOON.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR PRELIMS/CHAMPS:

**VERY IMPORTANT** Declaring as “ATTENDING” does not mean your swimmer will automatically swim at the meet on Friday. Swimmers will be told at practices on Thursday if they have made it to Prelims on Friday.

To qualify, swimmers must have a legal time. This means their time was officially recorded in a dual meet (seed times from time trials do not count).  The fastest 9 swimmers in Free, Back, Breast, Butterfly and fastest 6 swimmers in IM will qualify. 

Swimmers will be notified by 8 p.m. on Friday if they have made it to Champs on Saturday.

PARENT VOLUNTEER JOBS:

We will need parent volunteers on both Friday and Saturday. Once we determine, which swimmers are attending these meets, we will reach out to the attending swimmers’ parents with volunteer job information. 

I hope all of this information makes sense. For now, please just review the schedule and declare whether or not your swimmer can attend Friday AND Saturday IF they qualify.
