First day of swim team will be May 9th. Awards Party (last day) will be June 30th. Please plan your vacations accordingly.
Read below for general information about our team:
NEW SWIMMERS
In order to ensure the safety of all of our swimmers, new swimmers are required to meet certain standards before they may join the Dolphins. Swimmers must be able to legally swim 25 yards (1 length of the pool) freestyle in 75 seconds or less without assistance. The swimmer must also be able to stand, safely, in the shallow end of the pool and be able to float on their back. New swimmers will be required to attend a try-out and be evaluated by a coach before the first day of practice.
If you feel your swimmer meets these qualifications, please register for the team and someone from our team will reach out to you to schedule a try-out.
If the coaches feel your child is not ready for swim team, they may recommend that your child take swim lessons elsewhere and re-apply next season. If your child does not qualify for swim team this year, you will be refunded your registration fee less $50. As we want this to be a fun, safe and positive experience for your child, we hope you will understand and appreciate our requirements.
AGE GROUP INFORMATION
The swimmer's age group is determined by the swimmer's age as of May 31st. Swimmers must be at least 5 years old as of May 31st in order to register. Swimmers must practice at their assigned time, with their own age group and cannot join another age group's practice.
REGISTRATION COSTS
2024 Registration Fees:
First Athlete $215, Second Athlete $190, 15-18 Athletes $115
The Briarhills Dolphins are a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. The registration fee is a one time fee and covers all practices, meet costs, league fees, insurance, equipment, website, awards and coaching fees for the entire season. Each swimmer will receive a team suit, swim cap and team t-shirt as part of their registration. Additional swim caps and goggles are to be purchased separately.
The registration fee is non-refundable.

Practices are held at the Briarhills Swimming Pool - 14300 Briarhills Parkway.

TEAM SUITS
Each swimmer will receive a new suit as part of their registration. Swimmers will be fitted with their suits at the Briarhills pool. Fitting date and time TBD.
VOLUNTEERING
Did you know? Other than our paid coaches, our team is ran and operated 100% by PARENT VOLUNTEERS!
That means every family is required to volunteer in some form or fashion. You will have the opportunity to select your job preference during registration. It takes a lot of volunteers behind the scenes for each meet to run smoothly and efficiently. The team cannot function without YOU!
**Failure to fulfill your volunteer commitment may result in your family losing eligibility to early register with our team the following year.
Volunteering is a fun way to interact with other parents and our swimmers! We need your help!
TROPHIES
Swimmers that compete in at least 2 meets will receive a participation trophy at the awards party held at the end of the season.
Special awards will be given by the coaches to the female and male most improved, most spirited and MVP swimmer for each age group. A swimmer of the year trophy will also be awarded to one female and one male swimmer by the coaches.
COMMUNICATION
Please direct your questions to our wonderful coaches or committee members. However, do not distract coaches during practice. Please wait until the end of practice if you have a quick question or for longer discussions, please e-mail or call. Weekly updates will be posted on our website and also via e-mails.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
If practice is delayed or cancelled due to inclement weather, the "Weather Updates" page of our website will let you know. We will try to keep you informed by emails as well but when in doubt, visit the website for the most up to date status.
