    Information Regarding Weather Policy

    Dear Meet Participants,

There have been some questions regarding the weather policy for meets. See below the league rules regarding postponing or rescheduling a meet due to weather.

At this time the meet is scheduled as planned and we expect our swimmers to arrive to Ashford's pool by 2 p.m. today.

    From the rulebook:

    1. A meet shall be delayed for 30 minutes if lightning is detected within a 10-mile radius of the pool. The WeatherBug app shall be the sole source of this information. Any subsequent lightning strikes within the 30-minute delay that are also within a 10-mile radius of the pool shall be justification for restarting the 30-minute delay.
    1. If the total amount of delay time reaches 90 minutes (continuous or intermittent), the Team Reps and meet Head Judge shall convene a meeting to decide to continue the delay for an agreed-upon limit (e.g. storm front passing), postponement, or to end the meet.
    1. In the event that a meet is postponed, the following shall apply:
    1. The date and time for completion of the meet shall be mutually agreed by the Official Team Representatives and Referee.
    1. The "completion" meet shall resume at precisely the same heat and event number due to swim at the time of postponement.
    1. A bona fide swim team member who was absent for the start of the meet, but otherwise eligible to swim, may swim in the "completion" meet.
    1. In the event that a member of a relay team is unable to attend the "completion" meet, a substitution may be made.
    1. There will be no changes in the heating.
    1. An individual swimmer may only compete in 3 individual events and 2 relays (one freestyle and one medley) in the total meet.
    1. In the event that a meet is stopped before completion, the following shall apply:
    1. If the meet was stopped after completion of all of the IM events, the meet shall be scored using all of the completed events. The team with the most points shall be the winner.
