IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS!
Dear Dolphins,
Thank you for your help with time trials yesterday! A BIG thank you to all the parent volunteers and meet officials for your help running the meet. It takes many helping hands and you all were fabulous last night.
Great job also to our swimmers! The coaches were impressed by how much the swimmers have developed in just a few weeks. There’s more work to be done as we get ready for the 8 and under meet this Saturday and our first OFFICIAL dual meet next Monday.
Please read below important announcements for this week.
LAST AFTERNOON PRACTICE TODAY. TOMORROW WE SWITCH TO MORNING PRACTICES
Today we will practice in the afternoon. Tomorrow, Thursday June 1st, we will switch to morning practice times. Please come to practice as much as you can this week as the coaches will be working with the swimmers on relays, starts and finishes. There's a lot to cover in a short amount of time and we need all of our swimmers present at practices!
DECLARE ATTENDANCE FOR ALL OF THE MEETS BY NOON TOMORROW!
Please declare your swimmer’s attendance for ALL meets by noon tomorrow (Thursday, June 1st).
Parents, one of your most important jobs is declaring your swimmer’s meet attendance. We had several families that did not declare for time trials. If your swimmer is not declared as attending we cannot enter them into the meet. We were able to make exceptions for time trials but we will not be able to do so for the official meets. They cannot show up and expect to swim at the meet if they are undeclared.
Attached are screenshots of how to declare your attendance in the Swimtopia app. You will do it just like you did for time trials. The only difference is that you need to scroll down and click on each event one by one and go to the meet signup.
TEAM SPIRIT NIGHT & MERCHANDISE PICKUP THIS FRIDAY
We invite Dolphins and their families to a team dinner at Dog Haus on Friday from 6:00-8:30 p.m. We will celebrate with the coaches, get pumped up for our first meet and enjoy a fun night out together.
*Team suits, swim caps, t-shirts and other merchandise will be available for pickup at the team dinner starting at 6 p.m.
8 & UNDER MEET THIS SATURDAY
The 8 & Under Meet is this Saturday at the Briarhills pool. This meet is a practice meet for our youngest Dolphins.
An email with meet information will be sent separately to 8 & under families. Please be on the lookout for that very important email.
Swimmers 9 & up will not attend the 8 & under meet. There will be no practices on Saturday since the meet will be hosted at the Briarhills pool.
FIRST OFFICIAL MEET VS. ASHFORD WHALES ON MONDAY, JUNE 5TH
Monday’s meet against the Ashford Whales will be held at the Ashford Forest Pool – 12550 Westella (located near Briar Forest and Dairy Ashford).
Swimmers will need to arrive by 2:45 p.m.
This meet will be our most competitive dual meet. Last year the Dolphins beat the Whales by a mere 2 points! It was a real nail biter! We need all of our swimmers to attend this meet!
Meet specific information will be emailed to meet participants by the end of this week.
PICTURE DAY IS ON TUESDAY, JUNE 6TH
After our meet on Monday, we will take individual and team pictures on Tuesday morning starting at 8 a.m. There will be no practices on Tuesday – only pictures!
