Dolphins Weekly Update - 05/30/22
Dear Dolphins,
I hope you all had a nice Memorial Day weekend and are ready for another fun week of swim! Please read below the important updates for this week.
AFTERNOON PRACTICES TO CONTINUE THROUGH TUESDAY, JUNE 7TH
Afternoon practices will continue for another week. On Wednesday, the Briarhills pool will also be open to residents. So that we can stay on good terms with the neighborhood, swim team members should not arrive early or stay after practice to swim in the section that is designated for residents. We will be monitoring closely. Any team member swimming in the resident designated area will be asked to leave the pool.
We will only share the pool for 4 days: this Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and next Tuesday.
On Wednesday, June 8th, we will switch to morning practices and have exclusive use of the pool again.
8 & UNDER MEET
The 8 & Under Meet is this Saturday. This meet is a practice meet for our youngest swimmers and all 8 & under Dolphins are asked to attend.
An email with meet information will be sent separately to 8 & under families tomorrow evening. Please be on the lookout for that very important email.
Swimmers 9 & up will not attend the 8 & under meet. For 9 & up swimmers, practices will be held as usual at regular practice times.
TIME TRIALS INFORMATION
Time Trials will be held on Monday, June 6th. The purpose of this exercise is to capture the swimmer’s race times for the first meet. This is also a chance for our meet officials to practice a mock meet.
Swimmers will need to arrive promptly at 5 p.m. and be prepared to stay until 8 p.m. *5/6 age group will be dismissed earlier (probably between 6:30-7 pm).
To make dinner planning easy on parents, pepperoni and cheese pizza will be available for purchase.
More information about time trials will be emailed to the team later this week.
TEAM SPIRIT NIGHT & T-SHIRT PICK-UP
To kick off our first meet, we invite Dolphins and their families to a team dinner at Dog Haus from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. on Friday, June 10th. We will celebrate summertime, get pumped up for our first meet, decorate cars, and enjoy a nice evening out together. Team t-shirts will also be distributed at the team dinner.
