Thank you for a great first meet!
Dear Dolphins,
Thank you to all of our hard working parent volunteers for a great meet last night! I saw so many parents helping immensely behind the scenes - some never even took a break! It was great to see our family of Dolphins working side by side to make it a great night for our swimmers. Thanks to you, the meet ran smoothly and timely. We were able to finish the entire meet by 11:15 p.m. which was great considering we were swimming the biggest team in our division at a 6 lane pool. I get a lot of questions about how long meets run and I generally say between 4-5 hours. We were just a tad bit over 5 hours yesterday, and with it being our first meet of the season, I call that a success!
For Monday's meet, we will be swimming in an 8 lane pool so the meet should finish faster. I say that with caution though, just because anything can happen on meet days. How long the meets take always depends on the organization and efficiency of the teams and whether or not there are any technical difficulties.
With that being said, it is extremely important that swimmers arrive on time to the meets so that we can be ready for a timely start. We had way too many late arrivals yesterday and it made for somewhat of a chaotic start. Please be considerate of the hard work that goes into running a meet and do not arrive late.I will be sending Monday's meet details, including when to arrive, in a separate email later on this evening.
If you have any changes to your attendance for Monday's meet, please login to our website and make those changes by 3 p.m. today. Coach Linnea and Coach Toby are submitting all entries to the other team this evening. Knowing your attendance is critical. Once you say you can attend, our team is counting on both you and your swimmer to attend and fully participate.
If you have any questions, please let me know. Go Dolphins!
